Matthew Fox (born July 14, 1966) is an American actor. He is most well-known for playing the television characters Charlie Salinger on Party of Five and Jack Shephard on Lost.
The son of Loretta and Francis Fox, Matthew Fox was born as the middle of three brothers on his family's horse ranch in Crowheart, Wyoming. He was educated at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and Columbia University and also attended the School for Film and Television in New York City. At Columbia, he was a member of the Columbia Lions football team, and played in the game that broke Columbia's notorious 42-game losing streak. After graduating in 1988, he began acting with the Atlantic Theater Company. Fox married Margherita Ronchi in 1992. They have two children, Kyle (pronounced "Kyleigh") and Byron. Fox is also a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays. Lost costar Madison lives with him and his family.
